Message from the Chairman
Welcome
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee for the 17th Congress of the Asian Society of Clinical Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (ASCPaLM), we take great pleasure in welcoming you to Kobe.
The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented experience in our history. Under situations we have never seen before, importance and its recognition of the laboratory services are greater than ever when we respond and attempt to mitigate the spread of it. The experience and knowledge in the difficulty and the success through the laboratory practice in each country would be helpful for controlling the outbreak in the world and for preparing for the next pandemic of it ahead of us.
As the main theme of this congress, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was designed to address the fragilities that the pandemic has exposed. It is a touching time to really take active measures to achieve the SDGs in the community that laboratory medicine (clinical pathology) serves through promoting the innovation, development and transfer of technology as well as continuous quality improvement of the laboratory practice, with its reliability and objectivity under international standardization. In all of these endeavors, partnership and collaboration are critical. Through these active measures, we would be able to really accomplish the purpose of ASCPaLM, which are to promote improvement in the health and well-being of the communities, and to support not only its constituent societies in Asia, but also its other members through communication, cooperation in education, research and practice.
The scientific program incorporats contemporary, exciting and informative sessions including Keynote Speech, Symposia, Luncheon Seminar and Poster Session, to facilitate interactive learning, communication and discussion. The industry-sponsored seminars will provide opportunities to bring up youself up-to-date reviews in the diversity of themes beyond your expertise. Communication with colleagues is not just limited to the scientific program. The social event would serve you a great time to see your friends and collaborators in a more relaxed atmosphere, while enjoying the best cuisine and spectacular that Kobe should offer.
I am looking forward to seeing you during the coming month and to deepening our mutual understanding by exchanging our opinions, thoughts, experiences, knowledges and challenges in the 17th Congress ASCPaLM KOBE 2017.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance for attending this Congress.
